由于疫情原因，我们正处于一个充满挑战的时期，但我想借此机会告诉大家，我们正在通过Canvas线上课程提供一个优质的学习项目，这样我们的枫叶学生就可以实现他们的学习目标。我还想请家长们相信，大多数学生都在努力学习，并从我们正在使用的在线学习平台Canvas和Zoom中学到了很多东西。
为了确保我们的老师可以很好地完成工作，我们发出了一份调查问卷，希望从我们的学生那里得到反馈。我们收到了2543份回复，信息如下:
1.我的老师在一周中可以在24小时之内回答我的问题或与我交流。
2.我的老师定期更新我们的学习任务、作业和评估。
3.课程信息，单元和作业是有条理的，易于遵循。
4.我的老师使用多种评估类型：小测验、测验、作业、专题和讨论。
5.我的老师对我的评估提供反馈，帮助我提高。

89%的平均支持率是一个很好的指标，表明我们的教师在Canvas线上课程方面做得很好。我们一直与教师定期合作，在需要的地方进行改进，加方管理人员也在密切监控课堂。
除了我们的常规时间安排外，我们的教师还提供额外的辅导支持，而且我们的大多数教师都在使用Zoom会议软件与他们的学生在线见面。如果学生有问题，他们会联系他们的领事，许多学生也与我们的加方副校长卢先生和里士满先生取得了联系。我们希望家长们明白，我们随时可以通过Zoom与他们见面，解决他们的担忧。
最后，我想让家长们知道，我们正与留学中心和沈老师密切合作，以确保我们12年级的学生有充分的机会申请，并被他们梦想中的大学录取。预估成绩已于第一学期发出，第三学期成绩单将于短期内完成。

Topic: Canvas & the BC Program

We are in a challenging time with COVID-19 but I want to take this opportunity to let you know that we are providing an excellent academic program via Canvas so our Maple Leaf students can achieve their academic goals. I also want to assure parents that most students are working hard and getting the most from Canvas, the online learning platform that we are using, along with Zoom.
To make sure that our teachers are doing a good job we sent out a survey to get feedback from our students. We had 2,543 responses to the following:
1.My teacher responds to my questions or communicates within 24 hours during the week.
2.My teacher updates us regularly about our learning tasks, assignments and assessments.
3.Course information, modules and assignments are organized and easy to follow.
4.My teacher uses many assessment types; quizzes, tests, assignments, projects and discussions.
5.My teacher provides feedback on my assessments that helps me improve.
6.The number of assignments and time to complete them is fair.
7.The time given to complete online quizzes/tests is enough.
The 89 % average approval rating is a very good indicator that our teachers are doing an excellent job with Canvas. We have been working regularly with our teachers to make improvements where needed and the administration is monitoring classes closely.
Aside from our regular time slots our teachers are available for additional Tutorial support and most of our teachers are using Zoom Meetings to meet with their students on-line. If students have had issues they have been in contact with their counselors and many have been in contact with our Vice-Principals, Mr. Lu and Mr. Richmond. We want parents to understand that we are always available to meet via Zoom to address their concerns.
Lastly, I want to ensure that parents know that we are working closely with the Graduation Centre and Mr. Shen to make sure that our Grade 12 students have every opportunity to apply and get accepted to their dream universities. Predicted grades were sent out in Semester One and Term 3 Report Cards will be available shortly.
If any parents have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Vice-Principals. We want to ensure that all students are successful as we continue into Term 4.
