Olawunmi Banjoko和Mr.
The Mini-Maple Leaf Class Project
Today is December 30th. It’s a beautiful chilly day. We held another successful activity with the main purpose of enhancing students’ imagination and creativity in portraying the spirit of Maple Leaf through designing this Class Project as a team.
A few days earlier, we gave affirmation to the class project proposal made by the Bridging teacher Mr. Reagan Cabauatan to make Mini-Maple Leaf Models with his students from Blocks A & D wherein students were guided to construct a model using their imagination to come up with a unique design adding up some new structures to their project and one of the groups even decided to make a Mini-Maple Leaf North Pole Campus.
The students were then instructed to show off their awesome skills and great teamwork to be creative and resourceful in constructing the Mini-Maple Leaf using mostly recycled cardboards in just a few days with some of them working on it after school and other members even did their part on a weekend.
This event Mr. Reagan organized with his students was indeed a success therefore we would like to extend our warmest gratitude to our very supportive ESL Director Anny An, our awesome IP teachers Ms. Olawunmi Banjoko & Mr. Robert McGeachy, our fabulous ESL teachers Sherry, Joana, Karen, and Doris and their students for their amazing help in making this event worthwhile.
Through this encouraging and successful activity, we learned a lot such as teamwork, effective planning, open communication, and most importantly deep love of our school, our dear Maple Leaf, and devotion to study. We do hope to see more and more significant class activities like this one we had today in the future.
Mr. Reagan Cabauatan has been teaching the English language in China for more than a decade and is now in his 13th year and this is currently his 7th year at Maple Leaf International School. He believes that success in the teaching-learning process is always attributed to the creativity of the educators. For him, to be creative, the teacher has to always consider individual differences or diversity of the learners in every learning episode to make it more meaningful and conducive to learning.
