She cried in deep remorse. “If I didn’t demand too much, it must
be different today." She yelled. Her husband also cried, “Nothing
serious, you changed, I changed, our life changed. We also have to
live in the world. Don’t worry about anything. We can have good

After ten years of work, the woman did not become rude. She
knew she needed to care about others, also understood that her
husband loved her so much. Although she became aged, her heart
became beautiful. They paid off the debt. They wanted to start new
life. They moved out of the old attic, rented a little house. They
didn’t have to do so much work every day. The wife cooked every
evening and waited for her husband home. Their life was getting
better and better. One day, she met her friend in the street.
“Are you Jeanne?”
“Yes. You are…Loisel?”
“Yes, it is me. Nice to see you.”
“Where did you go over the years? Why don’t you contact me?”
“It is a long story. Jeanne, I must tell you one thing. That year I
lost your necklace.” Loisel paused. “We brought another similar
necklace to give you. We borrowed money from every conceivable
source. Then we spent ten years to pay back the debts. ”
“Why didn’t you tell me? If I knew that I would not let you paid! ”
“I am so sorry. Are we friends? ”
“Yes, of course.” Jeanne slimed. “You are my best friend.”
