Candle problem
Firstly, the man use a “candle problem” to claim a fact, and the purpose
is to elicit the conclusion. Sometimes, prize doesn’t work and properly it
makes the opposite effects. This effect which let everyone be surprised
and don’t believe does exist.
I think it is impossible at first. Because my mother always use this way to
excite my nerve to let me do this thing seriously with a high quality. And
I seldom let her down. That’s why I feel surprised at this when I heard
the conclusion. But the man who makes this conclusion shows us the
examples. One is that a professor from Massachusetts Institute of
Technology led many students to do ten games and compared with
some other people. There are three level prizes. The large prize, the
middle prize and the small prize. But the result shows that people who
win the large prize in America are not as smart as the people who win
the small prizes in other places
In my opinion, it is very common to use this method to motivate people
in China. Such as, in our school, parents and teachers often give us
somethings that can excite us. If I have some exam, my Mum always
says that “if you can get 100 scores, I will give you 50 RMB”. That
makes me so excited and hurry. I think I can handle it and do it well.
It is very easy for me. But if the issue that is beyond my ability is very
difficult for me and wastes me a lot of time. It will limit my thought in
this way. I can only think this issue from a few perspectives instead of
thinking it from all perspectives. That is negative. But when we do
something that is very visual, we will do this faster than other people.
Sometimes we need to see things ‘essences clearly and be calm.
Don’t be puzzled. We might do better than others.
