和着新年的快乐，迈着轻盈的步伐，2月22日，天津泰达枫叶国际学校小学校区以崭新的面貌迎来了新学期的第一天。上午九点半，全体师生身着正装齐聚枫叶小广场，满怀激情地参加了新学期的开学典礼。

在庄严的升旗仪式后，首先由六年级学生代表全体同学讲话，标准的英语发音、精神抖擞的风貌展现了枫叶学子的良好素养；紧接着由中方、外方及生活部的五位老师代表全体教师发言，他们为枫叶师生献上了新年的祝福和新学期的寄语，对同学们提出了殷切的希望，愿同学们在新学期里，在枫叶的育人环境下努力学习，快乐成长。

接下来，谭校长为全校师生做了热情洋溢、催人振奋的开学致辞。首先向返校的全体同学表示亲切的问候，向辛勤工作在教育教学第一线的全体教职员工致以崇高的敬意！致辞中，校长送给同学们三句话：

“先成人，后成才。”—— 一个人只有具备了美好的品德、高尚的情操，才能把自己拥有的成绩、才华贡献给社会，才能拥有光明的前途。

“不经历风雨，怎能见彩虹。”—— 在一定的压力下，才能有动力，才能激发出一个人蕴藏的巨大潜能。人生最重要的就是经历，酸甜苦辣都有营养，成功与失败都是收获。

“实学加巧学”。——在学习上，我们提倡两个字“实”和“巧”。踏踏实实地学，扎扎实实地练，特别是双语和英语学科，要扎实掌握每日所学词汇、语法，做到“日日清，周周清”。在此基础上，要灵巧地学习，要掌握好的学习方法，以求得最佳的学习效益。

还对六年级的同学提出了殷切的期望，希望他们珍惜小学阶段的最后一段美好时光，努力学习，争取获得优异的成绩，在各个方面为其他年级的弟弟妹妹们做出表率。

整个典礼过程热烈、庄重，校长的讲话为新学期敲响了号角，为各项工作注入了新的能量，为本学期小学校区的优化发展打下了良好的开端。

在蓝天白云的映衬下，整齐的队列、一张张如花的笑脸成为了小学校区一道道美丽的风景线……

On February 22nd, we held the opening ceremony of the new 

semester in the Maple Leaf square in Tianjin TEDA Maple Leaf

 Elementary School Department. At nine thirty, we gathered

 together in uniforms to cerebrate the first day of the new

 semester. 

After the flagging ceremony, the student delegates of grade

 six had a speech using fluent English and their best spirit,

 then 5 Chinese and International teachers came to the stage

 to give well wishes to all of the students. We wish that our

 Maple Leaf students will study hard and be happy all day.

At the end Principal Tan gave us a glowing speech. She said

 three sentences. 

The precondition of being successful is to become a decent 

person first.

In this competitive world, only possessing great marks and 

talents are not enough. One has to be decent in order to 

have a great future.  

No pain, no gain. 

If there is no pressure, there won’t be motivation to inspire

 one’s potential.Life contains all the tastes, we could learn 

from the failures or victories. 

Thirdly, study hard with right learning methods. 

For learning, you need to put in a lot of efforts, but also 

find the right methods for yourself, especially for Bilingual 

and English courses. Each student should memorize the 

words they learn each day and each week and to make

 sure they know how to spell them. Everyone has different

 personalities, so you’ll have different learning methods. 

With teachers’ suggestions, please find your best way for learning. 

A few more wishes for Grade 6 students. You are going to graduate

 this semester, we wish you could try your best to achieve academic

 success and set a good example for the rest of students. 

During the ceremony, Miss Tan’s speech gives a good start for

 the development of elementary of the whole semester.
